History

In 2007, IKKiCON’s first year was held at the Wyndham Garden Inn with an expected attendance of 1,200. We were shocked and awed by the 2,500 who attended our first year, which quickly meant we outgrew our first venue. The following year, moved to the fourth largest hotel in Austin, the Double Tree. We grew by another 1,000 attendees, and our programming expanded, as well, including the privilege of being able to grant a wish for an amazing young girl through our charity auction, sponsored by FUNimation Entertainment. We once again outgrew our previous hotel, so in 2009, we moved to the largest hotel in Austin, the Hilton Austin. We pride ourselves on knowing that each IKKiCON year will be bigger and better than the last! We continue to strive to make each year more memorable and enjoyable. In the end, we know that the most important aspect of this event is you, the fan, because everyone one on staff is exactly that – a huge fanboy or fangirl. We believe in keeping IKKiCON fan-done and fan-run, and will always strive to throw the best party in town!
